Not only does it understand, but it  computes and provide back accurate and geo-relevant information.  Siri is even capable of breaking out tasks within a naturally spoke request, search the internet and provide you with data to support you request. “Show me a menu of a top rated steak house near by” Siri will break out the multi-string commands searching Steak house (geo spacific), Ratings, and then pull the menu!

Siri also learns over time your learns more about you and your habits to short the time to search. All request all with a conversation style interface.

The Wall Street Journal is quoted saying “Many would-be augurs have been trying to pinpoint the moment the artificial intelligence overlord known as Skynet gets it start: Some may one day point to the launch of Siri.”

Oh, did I tell you the app is FREE? So far I am very impressed with its ability to understand my my mumbly voice and second it accuracy at handling the tasks. Is the elusive Apple iTable launch less then 1 hour away? Rumor has it the carrier (possible dual At&t/Verizon) subsidized iTable ranging in price from $599-$799 depending on memory. The device is position to compete with new readers ala kindle and provide internet access, productivity, and gaming on a joint iPhone, iTable OS 4.0. It looks like Apple and Google are further distancing their organizations from each other. Over the past year the two companies have been seen their business models overlap causing Google CEO Eric Schmidt to resign from Apple’s board of directors, Apple rejecting Google apps from the App Store causing FCC investigations of Google, Apple and At&t and the recent launch of Google’s own Nexus. Both companies are fighting to win the next major vertical in mobile, search. Business Week wrote today that Apple and Microsoft maybe teaming up again and pairing iPhone OS 4.0 with Microsoft’s new flagship search Bing.
